Mission
AI is running inside every company. Most have no public governance around it. AI Clear exists to create an independent, public standard for AI transparency — the same way credit rating agencies created standards for creditworthiness.
We do not judge whether a company should use AI. We measure whether the company has governance infrastructure around that use: an inventory of what AI it uses, documentation of how data flows, policies for human review, a plan for when things go wrong, and public disclosure of its practices.
Public benefit corporation
AI Clear is organized as a PBC. We are accountable to the public mission of AI transparency, not only to shareholders. Rating decisions are firewalled from commercial relationships.
