Corrections and Appeals
Every AI Clear score is built from public evidence and our published methodology. If a company believes a score relies on a factual error, missed public evidence, or a misapplied criterion, it can ask us to review it. There is no charge, and you do not need to be a customer.
How it works
- Submit a request to appeals@aiclear.org. Include the company name, the scorecard URL, the specific criterion or criteria in question, and the public evidence you want considered, with links.
- We acknowledge receipt within 2 business days.
- An analyst who did not produce the original score reviews the request against the methodology and the evidence.
- Within 15 business days of acknowledgment, we respond with one of three outcomes: the score is corrected, the score is adjusted, or the score is upheld with an explanation tied to the rubric.
- If a score changes, we update the published scorecard and record the change in the score’s history.
What we review
- Factual errors in cited evidence, such as a misattributed or misread document.
- Public evidence that existed as of the observation date and was not considered.
- The application of a specific criterion’s evidence thresholds.
What this process is not
- It is not a negotiation over the grade. We assess evidence against the published rubric the same way for every company.
- New disclosures published after the observation date are captured at the next scheduled rescoring.
- Certification is a separate, optional paid product and is never required to request or receive a correction.
The appeals process operates independently of AI Clear’s sales and certification functions.
